Dr. George A. Papakostas has received a diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering in 1999 and the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering in 2002 and 2007, respectively, from the Democritus University of Thrace (DUTH), Greece. Dr. Papakostas serves as a Tenured Full Professor in the Department of Computer Science, at International Hellenic University, Greece. Dr. Papakostas has 10 years of experience in large-scale systems design, as a senior software engineer and technical manager and currently, he is the Leader of the “Machine Learning & Vision Research Group”. He has (co)authored more than 190 publications in indexed journals, international conferences and book chapters, 1 book (in greek), 2 edited books and 7 journal special issues. His publications have more than 2900 citations with an h-index of 31 (GoogleScholar). His research interests include machine learning, computer/machine vision, pattern recognition, and computational intelligence. Dr. Papakostas served as a reviewer in numerous journals and conferences and he is a member of the IAENG, MIR Labs, EUCogIII and the Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE).
