Student Care

At the Democritus University of Thrace (University Campus of Kavala) operates a Student Club that aims to implement student benefits and living facilities, cultural cultivation and student sports. The Student Club takes care of the feeding and accommodation of the students as well as the granting of scholarships and interest-free loans to the students based on their financial situation in combination with their performance in studies.

Students are also provided with full medical and hospital care and facilities for their travel throughout the academic year.

Information about the facilities of the Student Club of the Democritus University of Thrace (University Campus of Kavala) is given by the Club Secretariat, located on the ground floor of the student dormitory Φ1.

The benefits to the students are granted as long as the duration of their studies does not exceed the normal duration (8 semesters) increased by 50%.

Feeding

On the ground floor of the Student Dormitory Φ2 operates the Restaurant that provides three meals per day (breakfast, lunch and dinner) seven days a week, except during the holidays when it is closed. There is usually a choice between at least two meals and the daily cost for those who are not entitled to free meals is extremely low. The Student Club provides information on the conditions under which a student can receive free meals.

In the area of ​​the institution and specifically on the ground floor of the ΧΒΔ building there is a canteen which is open from morning until late at night and in anyone can eat casually or buy useful things e.g. tickets.

 

Accommodation

The Student Dormitory has three buildings (Φ1, Φ2, Φ3) with 230 double rooms in total and shared toilets and baths. The rooms in the buildings (Φ1, Φ2, Φ3) also have an INTERNET service network through the network of the University Campus of Kavala. The office of the Student Club provides information on the conditions under which a student can be accommodated in the Dormitory of the Kavala Campus.

 

Medical care

All students are entitled to medical care in case they do not have the relevant benefits through their families or if they choose to use the services offered through IHU. For more information, interested parties can contact the department secretariat.
